The Future of Power

I'm so excited to see this. I've thought for years that this country should be doing a lot more with solar power. In particular I've always thought that x amount of roof space should have solar power on them. This new project in the Southland really is exciting to me.

Riots in Iran over Gas?

I find this story very interesting. But, I haven't see all that much on the 24/7 News channels.

SolarCentury

"SolarCentury has designed the "Complete Solar Roof" that integrates solar electric and solar thermal technologies in a tile that is installed like a conventional roofing tile....

Funny this looks very similar to a story I posted about over a year ago on panels that are being imported by Kyocera. Granted the original story said nothing about Solar water hearing. So maybe these guys have come up with a novel hybrid use for those solar panels.

Solar-Powered Curtain

Here is a novel idea. You live in an apartment but want to cut back on your energy bills and you've already added energy efficient lighting and appliances. Now if you have Southern exposure in one of your rooms you could add a Solar-powered Curtain (PDF file). Design Gőtenborg which explores new technologies has come up with this interesting concept.

Here is the press release for the MyGen Meridian Building-Integrated Solar PV Module System I showed below.

Solar Power

I've thaught for a long time that one way to help solve the energy problems in the world is, at least in the US, to mandate that all new construction should have X% of roof space as solar panels. Now a company has produce a panel that works and looks pretty good.

Kyocera solar tiles

Kyocera (or Kyoto Ceramic as their full name is) is one of world leaders in the domain of solar panels, and presents today a very interesting concept to promote the use of solar energy in private homes, without forgetting the design aspect of a house, as the panels have the shape of a roof tile.
