White House Heavy Handedness with the CDC

Just how are we to believe anything that comes out of the White House these days? They have to control every word that is said anywhere in the goverment.
White House CDC "edits" were a massacre
The word-count for the CDC Director's Senate testimony went from 3,107 to 1,500 after the White House got through with it...Read More

Libby on Parole

It's simply unbelievable that these people are running this country. Everything they touch turns around and bites them in the end. The question that I have is just how long can they keep this house of cards up before congress grows some and starts impeachment of this administration. The rule of law should mean something.

Judge: Libby order surrounded by doubt
A federal judge suggested on Thursday that President Bush had come very close to acting unconstitutionally in the way he fashioned legal relief for former vice presidential aide I. Lewis Lobby, but the judge ultimately concluded that he had to uphold the President's clemency action. In a ten-page opinion bristling with actual and implied criticism of the President's handling of the Libby commutation Read More...

Worse Than Watergate

So says an editorial in the Denver Post. I agree with is, but what amazes me is that no one has pulled the trigger in congress.  Here we sit with arguably on of the most corrupt administrations in are history.  If you don't believe that just look at how many people connected with this administration are already in jail.  Not counting those like Libby who should be in a cell now.

DOJ Attorney: Bush Worse Than Watergate

John S. Koppel: As a longtime attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, I can honestly say that I have never been as ashamed of the department and government that I serve as I am at this time. The public record now plainly demonstrates that both the DOJ and the government as a whole have been thoroughly politicized in a manner that is inappropriate, unethical and indeed unlawful.

Others are thinking the same thing, as I am.

Daily Kos: A Pardon on the Installment Plan; An Investigation Sabotaged
It should be noted, for future record, that the President of the United States has just used his power of clemency to sabotage an active criminal investigation into the office of his own Vice President. In some parallel universes, I have heard tell that such a thing was once itself considered corruption, or obstruction. Read more...

Up and Down

I thought that we were going to actually have some accountability, but no we get this White House commuting the sentence of Libby to no time served. How the hell is that right in a national security scandal of the outing of Valerie Wilson.

This disgusts me.

Libby going to Jail. Do not Pass Go.

Court Refuses To Delay Libby Prison Term, Decision Raises Pressure On Bush To Pardon Ex-White House Aide - CBS News
A federal appeals court refused on Monday to step in and delay former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby's prison sentence in the CIA leak case.

I can't be more happy that Libby is going to see some jail time before any of the Neo-Con's can get the Shrub to pardon him. I feel, that in some ways, we are watching the beginings of a long slow death of the Republican Party.

And that like the Wig Party that they came from, some new national party may come out of the ruin that these fools have created for themselves and the country. I really believe that in the next 5-7 years that party will not be anything like what we see now.

violations of the Presidential Records Act

I cannot believe that no one has or will be held to the fires for these actions taken by this Administration to prevent, not only oversight, but any record of their true actions as the law requires them to do.

Think Progress » Investigation Uncovers ‘Extensive Destruction’ Of RNC Emails, Violations Of Records Act

The RNC has preserved only 130 e-mails sent to Karl Rove during Bush’s first term and no e-mails sent by Rove prior to November 2003.

lower and lower

Just how low will they go before someone does something about Bush & Co. A new lower being reported by Harris polls.

Political Wire: Bush Approval in Free Fall
Bush Approval in Free Fall
President Bush’s approval rating "has fallen to its lowest mark of his presidency," according to a new Harris Interactive poll. Just 29% think Bush is doing an "excellent or pretty good" job as president, down from 35% in April.

Another Poll

Yet another poll shows Bush heading south into uncharted territory for a POTUS' approval. I believe Nixin had the all time low of 27% at the time of his resignation. But I could be wrong on that. In either case, these last two poll are the worst numbers I have ever seen.

ENOUGH already!

Tell me at what point do we say,"ENOUGH all ready!" And throw them all out. We have a President that thinks that 750 different laws don't apply to him and or his administration, takes use to war on faulty intell, lies flat out to us on Domestic Spying, outs or compromises CIA officers for political gain, makes are great great grandchildren poor with out of sight spending, And now this:

Drudge Retort: HUD Contractors Must Support Bush
Dallas Business Journal: Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson said in a recent speech that he canceled a deal with a contractor because the man opposed President Bush. "Why should I reward someone who doesn't like the president, so they can use funds to try to campaign against the president? Logic says they don't get the contract."

This arrangement violates federal law, according to ThinkProgress.

Seniors Mug Bush

Drudge Retort: Seniors Mug Bush at Photo Op
At first it looked as if it was going to be another warm bath of a White House question-and-answer session with President Bush. There was a happy group of retirees arranged on a stage, a poster in red, white and blue that proclaimed "Strengthening Medicare" and a peppy president with microphone in hand.

But at the Riderwood Village retirement community last week in the Washington suburb of Silver Spring, Md., something different happened: the president got hit with hardballs by the crowd of 80-somethings. Not only did the retirees, many of them Democrats and former government officials, ask sharp questions about the day's topic, the Medicare prescription drug program, they took on Mr. Bush on global warming and nuclear war..... CIA Leak and the White House

As the White House braces for possible indictments coming down as soon as mid-week, I thought it would be helpful to link again to Think Progress' list of Administration Officials Involved In Plame Leak. Which he has updated to reflect reports from the Bloomberg and others that Dick Cheney may be entangled in this leak through his infamous White House Iraq Group(W.H.I.G.) that he chair in the run up to the war.

Is anyone watching this Administration?

I cannot believe this country, America is becoming a fascist state more now than ever before! I find out that Paul Rosenzweig has been appointed chairman of the Department of Homeland Security's Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee. Rosenzweig is a "prominent champion of government data-mining" according to C|net. And he was also a member of John Poindexter's DARPA project: Total Information Awareness that got killed in that name only to be born again in other forms, such as the ill fated Airport Passenger Screening program. This is the type of person that is supposed to protect our rights and insure ethical behavior in DHS?!

I love this quote:
As a Slashdot reader comments on the news:
Get with the newspeak, bub. Today's new improved doubleplusgood American conservatives are for smaller government in the form of increased federal spending, more privacy in the form of total surveillance, state's rights in the form of Congressional meddling in individual state court cases, isolationist foreign policy in the form of overseas force projection, government transparency in the form of increased classification of documents, and high moral standards in the form of flagrant House ethics rule violations.

Tricky Dick is at it again

Cheney Defends Bush Appointments in the Washington Post.
Vice President Cheney said yesterday that the elevation of White House loyalists and supporters of the Iraq war to key diplomatic posts puts the United States in a stronger position to force changes at the United Nations and improve the U.S. image abroad.
Get real. Does he really believe this dribble?
"If we are going to be successful long-term in the war on terror and in the broader objective of promoting freedom and democracy in that part of the world, we have to get the public diplomacy piece of it right," Cheney said. "Up until now, that has been a very weak part of our arsenal."
And appointing John Bolton to the UN and Paul Wolfowitz to the World Bank is showing the world we're serious on the diplomatic front? It's more of a comparison to throwing a live grenade into a room and bolting the doors.

New twist on the Gannon - White House Scandal

The Daily Kos is linking to another blog on Gannon and his inside connections with the White House

They seem to intimate that the white house was feeding high level classified information to Gannon in violation of National Security Laws and was connected to the Dan Rather Scandal.
