Vimeo Hosting HD Version of Obama's Weekly Address

Vimeo is now hosting HD video from The White House which is a nice alternative to the YouTube option, I don't think that they have the cookie tracking problem that Youtube had. Here’s Barack Obama’s first weekly address as president.

New Seasons' Legal Twists

Politics of the Plate: Market Forces

Yet another twist in this Story of New Seasons being dragged kicking and screaming into the middle of the FTC fight over Whole Foods take over of Wild Oats, it looks like they have come to an agreement on the subpoena's ordering New Seasons to give over their financial records to ther competitor on a case not directly related to them.  The type of information they wanted, I think, would have spelt doom for this small local chain.  But now it appears that they have won a compromise over just how much information they have to give over.

No Justice from DOJ

The more I think about this the more it just seems wrong.  Here we are coming to the end, of what is one of the worst Presidency in US history, with so many scandals it defies belief.  And yet none of those responsible are being held accountable. Libby gets a Presidential Pardon, ho excuse me that is commuting of his sentence, and since he was one of the richest men in government he paid for his crime of outing an agent of the CIA by not having to serve a day in jail.

The idea that we should just put it all behind us is laughable.  We are facing a a possible depression, thanks to these criminally irresponsible people. Now we know that all we suspected is true, according to the GAO and emails collected by them, so violating federal law and perjury before congress means they will not be punished, because we should just move on.  I'm sorry but,  how can anyone trust a system that has no, real punishment for wrong doing on the part of those supposed to protect use.

Either they are held accountable or the constitution is dead.

W. E. B. Griffin's Newest Book

The Presidential Agent, Book 5: Black Op The Presidential Agent, Book 5: Black Op by W. E. B. Griffin

rating: 2 of 5 stars
I've read most everything W. E. B. Griffin has written over the years.  None of them I would say are great literature.  I always view them more as brain candy, something to read and pass the time over the holidays. This one wasn't bad. Like many of his books, it follows a certain formula with bureaucratic backroom fighting mixed in with some bit of arcane history set in the shady world of Black Programs, but enjoyable never the less. I didn't care for the love interest in this book. I found her to be very unbelievable, in general I see her character as a Macguffin, an irrelevant plot mover that took up to much space in this book.  I could of dealt without her. This is probably the last of the Presidential Agent Books in that he has drawn to conclusion many of the plot themes of this series of books. If your thinking of reading this, maybe wait for the paperback to come out.
