Vimeo Hosting HD Version of Obama's Weekly Address

Vimeo is now hosting HD video from The White House which is a nice alternative to the YouTube option, I don't think that they have the cookie tracking problem that Youtube had. Here’s Barack Obama’s first weekly address as president.

No Justice from DOJ

The more I think about this the more it just seems wrong.  Here we are coming to the end, of what is one of the worst Presidency in US history, with so many scandals it defies belief.  And yet none of those responsible are being held accountable. Libby gets a Presidential Pardon, ho excuse me that is commuting of his sentence, and since he was one of the richest men in government he paid for his crime of outing an agent of the CIA by not having to serve a day in jail.  

The idea that we should just put it all behind us is laughable.  We are facing a a possible depression, thanks to these criminally irresponsible people. Now we know that all we suspected is true, according to the GAO and emails collected by them, so violating federal law and perjury before congress means they will not be punished, because we should just move on.  I'm sorry but,  how can anyone trust a system that has no, real punishment for wrong doing on the part of those supposed to protect use.   

Either they are held accountable or the constitution is dead.

No Transparency at the FED

I have to say that the fact that the Fed is not letting anyone know who they have given, an estimated 2 trillion in bailout money, really worries me.  I do not trust this current administration, at just about, every turn they have messed up things.  Their arrogance has led them wrong constantly over the last 8 years.  Thank god that the election went the way it did. I think that the economy would of been doomed under McCain.  At least now their is a chance things could work out.  

But it will be painful, before it gets better.

I unsure sure of this election.  On the one hand I do not want an other 4 years of republican leadership (or lack there of), and on the other I'm afraid that anyone placed in the white house now will have a Jimmy Carter like administration. 

What I mean is,  that like Carter anyone in the White House will have such a piss poor situation to manage, that anything that is done will anger someone and make it next to impossible to get anything done.  Carter was saddled with a tanking economy from Ford and the end of Vietnam, constraining everything that he did at the time.

Cheney Defends Bush Appointments in the Washington Post.

Vice President Cheney said yesterday that the elevation of White House loyalists and supporters of the Iraq war to key diplomatic posts puts the United States in a stronger position to force changes at the United Nations and improve the U.S. image abroad.

Get real. Does he really believe this dribble?

"If we are going to be successful long-term in the war on terror and in the broader objective of promoting freedom and democracy in that part of the world, we have to get the public diplomacy piece of it right," Cheney said. "Up until now, that has been a very weak part of our arsenal."

And appointing John Bolton to the UN and Paul Wolfowitz to the World Bank is showing the world we're serious on the diplomatic front? It's more of a comparison to throwing a live grenade into a room and bolting the doors.

Evidence that Porter Goss was a Terrible Choice for the CIA

I cannot believe that a man who was hailed by the administration as the best choice, is now saying before congress:

"The jobs I'm being asked to do, the five hats that I wear, are too much for this mortal, I'm a little amazed at the workload."

This from a man who was a prominent member of the Senate Intelligent Oversight Committee, a man who should, as a former Intelligence Agent, have a clearer view of what is expected of his office then others coming from outside of the Intelligence Community. Not to mention that his staff caused some of the most experienced officers in the CIA to resign in protest over what they were doing to the agency a few months ago.
